JLClinical is a newly formed venture started in October 2024, based in Bank Beauty in the lovely village of Hawarden, my home since I was born. Run solely by myself alongside my current role in Primary care as a Nursing Sister. Nursing is my second career in life, having started my working life in risk management and IT. I retrained as a nurse in 2010, and achieved a first class batchelor of Science degree in 2013. I then went on to complete further studies, specialising in all aspects of primary care, managing all chronic long term conditions with a special interest in women's health and in particular aging and menopause. I have also completed the v300 Non-medical prescriber qualification which I use daily in my role.
Working in the NHS I have seen as services have become more overwhelmed, priority shift to those most unwell, leaving little time to help those with other health and well-being concerns. From this we have seen the birth of self empowerment to look after ourselves and the need for affordable private services in our local communities. With my background as a primary care nurse practitioner, I have experienced first hand what concerns my patients have with their own health and wellbeing and their frustration as services have been withdrawn. Whilst I remain loyal to the NHS, I felt that I could fill this gap in my local community. People's worries can be multifactorial and once an acute or chronic medical condition has been ruled out, or a skin imperfection deemed cosmetic, they are left feeling dissatisfied and unsure what to do next. With this in mind, my aim is to offer personalised treatments for a healthier body and mind and help to improve self-esteem and confidence for those wanting to remove unwanted imperfections.
Having a skin imperfection can really affect our self confidence , but now with the birth of portable technology they can easily be removed with non-invasive treatments such as cryotherapy and advanced electrolysis in a private nurse led clinic. These are not new technologies, with evidence dating back to the 1900's on these methods having been successfully used by dermatologists to remove a variety of skin imperfections/lesions. For Cryotherapy, traditionally liquid nitrogen was used (and is still used in some hospital settings) however as this is costly, can cause a wound and has a risk of infection. It is no longer offered in primary care. But in its place has been the development of lower risk precision cryo pen devices. As an alternative to this, advanced electrolysis offers a lower risk/less invasive and inexpensive form of treatment to the traditional cautery treatment offered by a private dermatologist through portable electrolysis machines using a safe and low electrical current through a probe.
Self-esteem, health and well being is not only skin deep, many of us may suffer from a wealth of what a doctor may deem a 'minor concern' such hair loss or thinning, skin problems, brittle nails, tiredness, brain fog, anxiety, muscle aches and movement disorders, with no acute apparent cause. For most this may be due to vitamin and mineral deficiencies in the body, caused by diet, previous illness/surgery, medication, smoking or life stresses. This is where an intensive courses of vitamin treatments can be life changing.
To undertake this new venture, I have recently completed the following courses;
All acknowledged by insurance companies in the industry and to this end I am fully insured to undertake these treatments.
