Complimentary neck treatment when you book SkinPen precision microneedling
Milia, syringomas, and xanthelasma (cholesterol deposits) are common benign skin concerns that can appear as small white, yellow, or skin-coloured bumps on the face. While all three conditions are harmless, they are often unwanted for cosmetic reasons, particularly when they appear around the eyes, cheeks, nose, or other visible areas of the face.
At JLClinical, I offer safe and effective removal of milia, syringomas, and xanthelasma using advanced electrolysis, a precise treatment designed to improve skin texture, reduce visible lesions, and restore a smoother, more even complexion.
Milia, often referred to as milk spots, are tiny white or yellow keratin-filled cysts that develop just beneath the surface of the skin. They occur when dead skin cells become trapped instead of naturally exfoliating away.
They are most commonly found around the eyes, cheeks, forehead, and nose. Milia are completely harmless, non-contagious, and very common, but can become more visible over time, especially in mature or sun-damaged skin.
Syringomas are benign sweat gland growths that typically appear as small, firm, flesh-coloured or slightly yellow bumps. They most commonly develop around the lower eyelids but may also appear on the cheeks, neck, or chest.
Although syringomas are harmless, they are often more persistent than milia and may require a tailored treatment approach depending on their depth and quantity.
Xanthelasma are soft, yellowish cholesterol deposits that usually appear around the eyelids. They are caused by a build-up of lipids under the skin and may be linked to cholesterol levels in the body, although they can also occur in individuals with normal cholesterol.
If xanthelasma is suspected during consultation, you may be advised to seek a GP review and cholesterol check before treatment. Once medically appropriate, xanthelasma can be safely and effectively treated using advanced electrolysis.
Advanced electrolysis is a highly precise and effective treatment that uses a fine sterile probe to deliver controlled heat energy directly into the lesion.
This treatment is especially suitable for delicate facial areas, including around the eyes, where precision is essential.
After treatment, it is normal to experience mild redness, slight swelling, or a small scab at the treated site. These effects are temporary and typically settle within a few days.
Some lesions may be removed immediately, while deeper milia, syringomas, or xanthelasma may gradually improve over time as the skin heals naturally. It is essential not to pick or disturb the area during healing to minimise the risk of scarring.
Multiple milia, syringomas, or xanthelasma deposits can often be treated during a single appointment, making treatment efficient and time-effective.
During your consultation at JLClinical, your skin will be carefully assessed and a personalised treatment plan will be created, including an estimated number of sessions required based on the size, type, and number of lesions present. I am dedicated to providing safe, professional advanced electrolysis treatments in a calm clinical environment, helping you achieve clearer, smoother, and more confident-looking skin.
