Milia and syringomas are common benign skin lesions that often appear as small white, yellow or flesh-coloured bumps around the eyes, cheeks, forehead and other areas of the face. Although harmless, many people choose to have them removed for cosmetic reasons, particularly when they become more noticeable or affect confidence.
At JL Clinical, I offer safe and effective milia and syringoma removal using advanced electrolysis. Based in Hawarden, Flintshire, I welcome clients from Chester, North Wales and the surrounding areas seeking professional treatment for unwanted facial skin lesions and bumps.
Milia occur when keratin becomes trapped beneath the skin's surface, creating small white or yellow cysts. They commonly develop around the eyes, cheeks and forehead and can occur at any age.
Syringomas are benign growths of the sweat glands that most often appear around the lower eyelids. The exact cause is not always known, although they are often influenced by genetics and are more common in women. Both conditions are harmless but do not usually disappear without treatment.

Milia and syringoma removal can significantly improve the appearance and texture of the skin. Many lesions can be treated successfully in a single session, although larger or multiple lesions may require additional treatments. Following treatment, mild redness, slight swelling or small scabs may occur as part of the normal healing process. As the skin heals, the treated area becomes smoother and the lesions gradually disappear.
Milia are small keratin-filled cysts that develop beneath the skin, while syringomas are benign growths arising from the sweat glands. Although they can look similar, they are different skin conditions and may respond differently to treatment.
No. Both milia and syringomas are benign skin conditions and are not harmful. Many people choose treatment for cosmetic reasons rather than medical necessity.
Most clients experience only mild discomfort during treatment. The procedure is generally well tolerated, particularly as treatment areas are usually small and precise.
Successfully treated lesions are unlikely to return. However, some people may develop new milia or syringomas in other areas over time.
Most treated areas heal extremely well with little or no visible scarring. Following aftercare advice helps support optimal healing and minimise risks.
A consultation is not always necessary. Many milia and syringomas can be assessed and treated during the same appointment. If you are unsure whether your skin concern is suitable for treatment, please get in touch for advice before booking.
An initial consultation is generally not required for milia/syringoma removal. Most can be be assessed and treated during the same 15 minute appointment. If you have multiple areas with numerous requiring treatment, a 30-minute appointment is recommended to allow adequate time for assessment and treatment. If you are unsure which appointment length to book, please get in touch and I will be happy to advise.
