Facial thread veins, broken capillaries and spider veins are common skin concerns that can affect confidence, particularly when they appear on the cheeks, nose and chin. At JL Clinical, I offer advanced electrolysis treatment to safely and effectively reduce the appearance of unwanted facial thread veins, helping to restore a clearer, more even complexion.
Based in Hawarden, Flintshire, I welcome clients from Chester, North Wales and the surrounding areas seeking professional treatment for visible facial veins and redness.
Facial thread veins develop when tiny blood vessels close to the surface of the skin become enlarged or damaged. Common causes include sun exposure, ageing, genetics, rosacea, hormonal changes, temperature extremes, alcohol consumption and the long-term use of harsh skincare products. While harmless, thread veins can become more noticeable over time and are often difficult to improve with creams or skincare products alone.

Many clients notice an improvement in the appearance of facial thread veins following treatment, although individual results will vary. Treated veins gradually fade as the skin heals, helping to create a clearer and more even complexion. Depending on the size and extent of the veins being treated, additional sessions may be recommended to achieve the best possible outcome.

Facial thread veins do not usually disappear on their own and may become more noticeable over time. Advanced electrolysis can effectively treat existing thread veins, although new veins may develop in the future due to factors such as ageing, genetics, sun exposure and skin conditions such as rosacea.
Most clients describe the treatment as causing mild, momentary discomfort, often likened to a brief stinging or warming sensation. The procedure is generally well tolerated, and treatment sessions are usually quick, depending on the size and number of veins being treated.
The number of treatments required varies depending on the size, depth and extent of the thread veins. Some clients achieve excellent results after a single session, while others may benefit from additional treatments to achieve optimal results. This will be discussed during your consultation.
There is very little downtime following treatment. Some redness, slight swelling or minor crusting may occur in the treated area and usually settles within a few days. Most clients are able to return to their normal daily activities immediately after treatment.
Successfully treated thread veins are unlikely to return; however, new thread veins can develop over time. Factors such as genetics, sun exposure, ageing, rosacea and lifestyle factors may contribute to the formation of new visible veins in the future.
Thread veins are small visible blood vessels that appear close to the skin's surface, often on the nose and cheeks. Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that can cause redness, flushing, sensitivity and visible blood vessels. While thread veins can occur as part of rosacea, they can also develop independently.
An initial consultation is not always required for facial thread vein treatment. If you have a small area of thread veins, you can usually book a 15-minute treatment appointment directly. For larger areas or multiple treatment sites, a 30-minute appointment is recommended to allow sufficient time for assessment and treatment. If you are unsure which appointment length to choose, please get in touch and I will be happy to advise.
